Native to Chile, this scented gentian-blue crocus was thought to be nearly extinct in the wild and is still quite rare in cultivation. Often only 1 or 2 flowers per corm are produced. The 1 inch blooms are funnel-shaped and intense deep blue with a small white throat and faint white veins. One to three narrow leaves are produced at the base. Small corms are covered with a fibrous coat. It requires perfect drainage, so plan its location well. Best grown in an alpine house, cold greenhouse or bulb frame. Our bulbs are nursery propagated. Use: border, rock garden, pot.
