Native to limestone areas of Newfoundland and Quebec south to Missouri and Georgia. A regal plant with a fuchsia-pink slipper and crystalline white petals or sepals. The leaves are covered with stiff hairs, giving the plants a silvery green sheen. It likes 2 to 3 hours of morning or late afternoon sun each day and a constantly moist location with neutral pH.
