"Kentucky Lady's Slipper". Native to the central portion of the United States and considered to have one of the largest flower of the genus. The twisted petals and sepals are reddish-brown on the topside and green mottled with reddish-brown underneath. The creamy white to pale yellow pouch is large, approximately the size of a chicken egg. Grows 16 to 20 inches tall and blooms in late spring.
