A genera that consists of only one species, this rhizomatous perennial is famous for the unique scent of its delicate sprays of dainty, pendant, bell-shaped white flowers. In the wild this is a plant of woods and meadows growing in altitudes up to 8000 feet. In the garden it relishes a cool, shady location and moist, humus-rich soil and, once established, spreads to form a dense ground cover. Adapts readily to container growing and forcing, a great way to enjoy its fragrance indoors. While the flowers last only a short time, the crisply pointed oval green leaves remain attractive all summer. Deer and rodent proof. Use: border, natural, pots, cut, forcing. NOTE: Our extra-large pips will normally bloom the first season after planting. 45/sq. yd.
