Spring Shipped Bulbs » Bulbs A-K » Caladiums

Caladiums have their origins in tropical South America so it's not surprising they're particularly sensitive to cold temperatures. For this reason they can be grown outdoors year around only in Zones 10 and 11. Elsewhere they should be planted outdoors well after the last frost when the ground is warm. You'll want to pot your bulbs as soon as you receive them to give them a head start. They're quite easy to grow with their main requirement being well-drained, moist soil and a location out of hot, mid-day sun. At the end of the season before the first frost, dig the tubers and dry them, remove the tops and store them in a cool, dry location. We offer JUMBO 2 to 3 inch diameter bulbs./p>
