The most popular group of tazettas for indoor forcing are the famous "Paperwhites". The Paperwhites capture "Pure Spring" indoors throughout the winter with their sprays if delicate blooms scented with musky fragrance. Flowers are produced in clusters with each bulb producing several stems.

Growing Paperwhites Indoors: Paperwhites don't need a cold treatment to flower. Bulbs planted from October through December take 4 to 6 weeks to flower, and if planted in February, or March may take as little as 10 to 12 days. They require no cold period and grow readily in soil or on a base of pebbles, marbles or other non-nutritive filler above water. For a full look, plant 5 to 8 bulbs in a container at least 6 inches in diameter and 3 to 4 inches deep. If necessary, stake and tie foliage as it grows to prevent it from toppling over. Blooming lasts for days, especially if pots are kept cool at night.
