"Crimson Flag" or "Kaffir Lily" - These plants can be found growing in clumps along the rivers of the eastern Cape, Natal and Swaziland, often among rocks in the middle of streams where the roots are almost constantly in water.  Therefore, it's no surprise that they're ideal for planting along streams or ponds.  They also adapt well to container culture.  Foliage is long and grass-like, sheathing the base of the flower spike.  The flowers resemble miniature gladiolus, the petals pointed for a star-like effect, about 2-1/2 inches in diameter and borne 6 to 10 on each 18 to 20 inch stem.
